Check the sign and a route (6 minutes)
Learning goal: Support a signal judgement with evidence and practise a shared route-checking process.
Task content and materials
Teacher-written AI simulation: 'The red light in item 4 says go.' Correct response: It says 'stop'; the red
signal is the evidence.
Digital option: the teacher opens Google Maps with Hanoi Opera House as start and Vietnam National
Museum of History as destination. Before class, check a short public route that contains a visible turn.
Pupils locate both endpoints, trace the highlighted route and identify that turn. Do not assume the
current map has a particular route.
Complete offline model: draw a T-junction; Start is below, Library is at the left end and Bakery at the
right end. Face up from Start. To Library: go straight to the junction and turn left. To Bakery: go
straight and turn right.
Home practice: read the four completed sign exchanges and sing both verses.
