Week: 06 Period: 21 UNIT 4: WHEN’S YOUR BIRTHDAY? Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3) I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1.Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. Look, listen and repeat - Tell Ss that they are going to read a story which pupils ask/answer about birthday - Ask them to say the Q which Linda asked Mai to know her birthday and the answer after listening - Play the recording (3 times) - Let sts work in pairs to practice - Check some pair Task 2. Point and say - Tell Ss that they are going to practice asking and answering about someone’s birthday - Guide to use: When’s your birthday? It’s on the first of March to practice. Note that the first letters of the names of months must be in capitals. - Point the pict. and ask Ss say the date - Offer sts look at the pictures and talk about them - State the task need to do - Ask some sts to report Task 3. Let’s talk - Give the table of twelve months - Ask Ss to talk using 2 Qs they learnt in Lesson 1 and Lesson 2: What is the date today? And When’s your birthday? - Practice a lot with the dates and the birthday. - Sing - Look at the pict. and listen - Listen - Listen and repeat and then say: When’s your birthday? Knowledge: - Pronounce the sounds of the letters th and ch in the words fourth and March respectively. - Listen and circle the words filling the gapped sentences. Then write the words and say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant When’s your birthday? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: To help Ss loving English. 4. Forming competence: - Self-study - Communication - Using language to talk about someone’s birthday II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... Listen and repeat - Tells that they are going to practice saying the sounds of the letters “th” and “ch” respectively and put them on the board. - Play the recording - Write the words: fourth and march - Write the sentences and then play the recording one more Task 2. Listen and circle. The say aloud - Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to circle . - Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and circle. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. Objectives. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the sounds of the letters th and ch in the words fourth and March respectively. - Read an email, the questions, and tick the pictures answering the questions. - Write a birthday invitation card. - Make and present a birthday invitation card to the class - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: To help Ss loving English. 4. Forming competence: - Self-study - Communication - Using language to talk about someone’s birthday II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present....
