I. Objectives.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Pronounce the sounds of the letters ir, ur and er in the words first, Thursday and her respectively.
- Pronounce the letter clusters ir in first, ur in Saturday, and er in her.
- Listen and circle the correct words completing the gapped sentences. Then say the sentences aloud.
- Say the chant: What do you do on ?
- Sentence Patterns: Revision
- Vocabulary: Revision
2. Skills: Listening and speaking.
3. Attitudes/ Quality:
- Ss love their countries.
- To help Ss know how to make friends.

Week: 05 Period: 17 UNIT 3: WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY? Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3) Objectives. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Listen and repeat - Have Ss look at words in part 1. - Let Ss pay attention to the letters colored. - Have Ss learn to produce the sound of the letters “ir” and “ur” “er”. - Play the CD and ask Ss to listen. - Play the CD again and ask Ss to repeat each line of the text in chorus. - Have Ss read in groups/ in pairs. - Check some ss. Task 2. Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud. - Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to circle. - Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and circle. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer: - Have pupils to write on the board the sentences. - Check and correct. Task 3. Let’s chant - Tell Ss that they are going to chant - Have them read the chant and help them the difficult words - Play the recording (3 times) - Divide the class into 2 Gs: one chants the Qs and other chants the answers - Let Ss report (note s in Fridays ) - Read aloud part 1 - Chant again - Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again. -Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures - Work in groups to play the game - Identify - Pay - Attendant - Listen - -Listen and note. - Repeat. - Rea - In groups. / in pairs. - Give out and check. - Read 3 sentences - Listen and circle. - Check their guess. - Compare the answer with the partner. - 4 Ss. Objectives. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Read the paragraph and answer the questions. - Write about themselves, using the guiding questions. - Interview a classmate about what he / she does at the weekend. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss love English and be active. 4. Forming competence: - Co- operation - Self- study - Ss know how to greet and respond to greeting. - Communicate English with friends and teacher well II. Task 4. Read and answer - Have Ss read and do the task. Set the scene: “you are going to read the questions and find out the answer.” - Ask Ss to read the questions and answer Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary - Call on some Ss to report their answers. - Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the sentences. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation - Give the keys: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about dates. - Listen and tick the correct calendars. - Read the calendars, and fill the gapped sentences. - Sing the song: What’s the date today? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Live responsibly - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence: - Self- study. - Communication and co-operation. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... Ss practice singing in groups. - Go round and help. - Call some groups to perform the song at the front of the class. - Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again. - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook.
